Mr. Grabby

So, we went on a walk Sunday before I had to go to work.  It was nice outside before it turned freezing cold again recently. On our journey we saw this guy...
A Blue Hernon, apparently he forgot to fly south!
Chris and Liam cruising along.  Chris was wearing his ASU hat and on our journey and I thought some guy was flashing gang signs at my husband!  Really it was just the ASU pitchfork but it threw us both off because we were not expecting it.
Liam slept like this for about half the walk.
Then on Tuesday Liam began grabbing at his toy.  He had been slapping at his toys that hang above him but never really grabbed at them. It was exciting!
He really likes to hold on to his blankets, and sometimes he eats them like he did the bath towel.
He also enjoys relaxing on the chair like this
Now then, this morning Liam was playing with his toys and I was checking my email when all of the sudden I heard music.  I freaked out knowing that Liam had to reach for his toy to make the music play which he has never done before.  I sprinted down stairs for my camera and of course he had let go. but he then reached up and grabbed it again!  It was awesome!
Look at him go!  I even called my mom at work I was so excited and of course I texted Chris a picture of our boy in action.
I love that he has ahold of the toy and his shirt
Later he stretched out.  Sadie take a good look at the shirt. I bought it just for you.  Sorry Uncles they just don't make onesies that say Uncle on them. Don't worry Liam still loves you all :)
 Then we had tummy time
Later Liam attacked his stuffed Zebra from Grandma and Grandpa Casson.
The Zebra's nose has officially been slobbered on
Then he watched TV and sported his new shoes.  He really doesn't watch TV but when he sees it he is instantly attracted to the movement and colors. (I am assuming anyway)
Love his shoes and they actually FIT!
Later he had to have an outfit change because he pooped.  The poop did not get on his outfit until our son decided to stick his hand in his diaper!! I was mortified and cleaned him instantly. Then he slobbered on his zebra some more.
Later he chilled with dad like this
He is pretty awesome and it is so fun to watch him learn and grow!

A Froggy Butt Kinda Day

Last night Chris and I decided to have a date night. Liam of course came with us but was awesome and slept through dinner. It was nice. Afterwards we headed to Old Navy and Borders. Liam decided to spit up all over himself in Old Navy, no big deal. Then we headed to Borders and Liam and I were in the kids section when all the sudden I felt a little wetness. Yup, he peed right through the diaper! This resulted in us leaving and coming home quickly. Liam won himself a bath. Although he didn't mind at all, in fact he was all smiles and kicking his little feet.

It is hard to catch Liam when he is smiling because he focuses on the orange light of the camera which results in the face above quite often.
Dad distracting him from the light :)
Liam also enjoys eating his towel after baths.
After his bath we had story time. Last night it was Dr. Seuss "Oh The Places You'll Go"
As you can see Liam is completely focused :)
This is the contraption Chris and I bought well before Liam was born. We went to this safety seminar and were convinced that we had to have it or our child would die. Well guess what they lied and it doesn't work well for newborns/young babies. It will work well when he is a little older though. If you look closely you can see his poor right eye is just watering away, which means I went and got the eye drops today.
This is his awesome outfit for the day. Got love the frog butt!
I love it :)
Now then, this lovely balloon from The Dyson's has been floating around our house since Liam was 3 days old. I am shocked it is still floating and that is why it has made it on the blog. It's a SUPER balloon.

Doomsday

It's official; my return to work is upon us (Sunday night). I am totally bummed about the whole idea and stressed out too. It seems silly since I will basically be working while Liam is sleeping, so its not like I am going to miss out on seeing him.  However, I can't help but feel like it is the end of the world.  I think I am just going to miss reading and rocking him to sleep-even though I will still get to do it 4 nights a week.  I'm just being ridiculous. Anyway, I plan on working night shift so we don't have to get a babysitter (thank goodness because that would triple the stress level!) but on that note it means no sleep for us.  Liam is actually doing well sleeping at night so Chris won't suffer too badly, but he is a HORRIBLE nap taker lately.  He basically sleeps in 40 minute increments, which means I will have to sleep in 40 minute increments! On occasion he will take longer naps so we'll just cross our fingers. Oh well, at least I don't have to get a babysitter! Here is the sweet boy napping, I just love how he always has his arms up over his head.

Since I am going to have to go back to work I have been on a mission this week to clean and rearrange the upstairs room.  We are planning on kicking Liam out and putting him in his own room in a couple weeks.  The main reason is he is such a restless sleeper and every little movement and noise, wakes me up and I am going to have to get sleep when I can.  Chris is a better sleeper and doesn't always wake up to his slightest movement, he is blessed! The bummer is Chris wakes up sometimes when I wake up. Last week we headed to Ikea to get a cheap bookshelf to put in Liam's new room.  It worked out GREAT!  I had to do lots of rearranging and donating to clean out the closet (Chris and I used it to store our clothes, toliet paper, paper towels, and whatever else we felt like throwing in there) but it works like a charm and now Liam has a place for toys and books. I still have to move his dresser and crib but that will wait until the official move, after JennaHAGEN comes to visit in a week.  Yup, can't wait to see her!
Plenty of shelf room left for more BOOKS! I have an obsession, but I just love reading to our little man.
Actually space in the closet for wipes and diapers
Place to hang his clothes. Mainly ones that are too big now but he will wear someday.

Now then, Liam and I went on a run again the other day.  It was relatively lovely, since it wasn't freezing outside, but I definitely wish it was much warmer! Liam slept the whole time.  I ran about 3 miles and walked about 1 and survived. Have I mentioned how much I love our stroller?  Plus, we saw these lovely geese and seagulls just sitting on the ice of the pond at the park.

After our run I realized Liam needed sunglasses.  He is blinded by the sun at times but putting a blanket over his car seat is annoying because he can't see and it blows/falls off on occasion.  Take a look at our cool little dude...
 Testing them out.
On our way to Babies-R-Us. His favorite store.  He doesn't even mind them.  I thought he would rip them off but he seems to dig them.

I also gave in and got a bumbo.  He loves it and I do too.  He can sit on the table and talk with me while I get things done, plus he loves to look around and see EVERYTHING so it works great. Here he is sitting on the table while I did a little vacuuming.  Don't worry I was watching his every move and he can't fall out of the bumbo or off the table.
Lastly, his poor eye is completely gooped over again.  I asked the pediatrician about it last week at his 2 month follow-up and she said to try squirting breast milk in it.  Chris looked it up when we came home and sure enough it is something you can do to help with clogged ducts.  It really wasn't that bad but he still would get little crusties in the corner.  Then yesterday it started watering quite a bit and last night when he would wake up it was completely crusted over.  I called the pediatrician's office again and we went in for an appt today.  We saw a new Dr. and she said to keep squirting breast milk in it for the next 24 hours and if it doesn't clear up she would call the pharmacy and give us some drops.  Poor little man.  I really hope this eventually resolves on its own!

Snow Day and Richmond

Well since it snowed a ridiculous amount on Wednesday night, Liam was able to test out his warm snowsuit.  Chris was also lucky enough to work from home so he didn't have to drive in the mess.  Here is Liam laying in the snow (on a blanket).  No worries we didn't stay out there long, just long enough to get a picture.
Then we came inside and took another picture of him looking cute.
I also found another little outfit that is not nearly as warm as the previous one but I thought I should try it on him.  As you can see by his face he loved it!
On Friday we headed to Richmond to see Uncle Randy, Aunt Mindy, Michelle & Ryan.  We had a very lovely weekend visiting.  Friday we just hung out and Mindy made some yummy tacos. On Saturday we took a little trip to the Virginia Historical Museum and then got a mini tour of Richmond. Today we all went to lunch and then headed home.  This morning I wanted to take Liam out to visit Beauty and Stormy the miniature horses.  The minute I started walking outside with him our lil man fell ASLEEP!  Go figure :)
Plus we kept cutting off poor Stormy's head in the pictures, but just so you know they are cute little horses.
Then we walked over to see Napoleon the goat.  He was thrilled we came to visit him.
We went to eat at Red Robin and I dressed Liam in his Nationals T-shirt from Michelle and Ryan.  So of course we had to get a picture of him with the lovely couple.
Michelle and Liam.  He enjoyed her company. Michelle is 17 weeks pregnant and I can't wait to hear what she is having.  Will Liam have a little boy cousin or girl cousin to play with?
