Casson Connection: 8 Months

This sweet little Amelia is 8 months old! On the morning of her eight month birthday she decided she really does know how to roll over from her back and decided to sit up and stand up in her crib. Before she would just lay on her back until someone came for her. She basically would refuse to roll from her back to stomach until someone would do it for her, not that she didn't know how. I guess it is time to lower the crib! She also discovered the cupboards on her eight month birthday.

She was pretty proud of herself. She definitely is into more than the boys ever were and loves to stick EVERYTHING in her mouth. She is an active little gal.

Amelia is crawling all over the place and pulls herself up on anything she can. She is quite mobile and can quickly and easily get where she wants. She is also loving food. She eats a jar of baby food in the morning and evening usually but sometimes I am so busy with the boys it is hard to feed her so she probably gets more solid foods than the boys did and I just hope she doesn't choke, ha! Her favorite right now is avacado. She devours it! I was eating a peach and she decided to try a taste. She really enjoyed it. She was basically just sucking the juice but she did not let me move it away from her and when we were done and I threw it away she was not too thrilled. Even with just two teeth this girl can eat.

Amelia sleeps in about 3-4 hour stretches at night and I keep hoping it is going to get better. She takes a morning nap which is usually interrupted by morning activities with the boys. Some days it's a 15 minute nap and others and hour. She takes an afternoon nap and usually it will last around an hour.

Amelia is wearing 9-12 month outfits. She weighs 17.8 lbs and is 27.5 inches long. She has become very vocal and has made it very clear she is a girl with her high pitched squeals. It really throws me for a loop when she does it. It is something completely different from the boys.

She continues to be a very happy baby, she loves to follow her brothers and just be in the same room watching what they are doing. She prefers to be off exploring rather than cuddling with me unless she is tired then she wants nothing more than to be snuggled up with me.

Baby feet: and if you look closely you can see birthmark on her leg. She may not like it to much once she is a teenager but I think it is perfect.

The boys like to pretend she is attacking them. One day they barricaded her with pillows to make sure she would not get hurt if she fell. She thinks her brothers are hilarious.
