Our cool kiddos hanging out on the swing set reading together.
Friday before Labor Day weekend I had a dermatologist appointment in Flagstaff. So, we decided to spend the weekend at the Hotel Anderson. Sandy was so wonderful as usual and cooked us dinner and she read a book from Ireland (I think? Maybe Iceland?) about a troll and then later the kids had to find where a troll toy was hiding.
They also had new sleeping bags to sleep in and they were pretty pumped about that

Saturday we hung out and did a little shopping. Then in the evening we took the kids to Lowell Observatory.
It was so much fun

Entering the home of Pluto
We had just finished reading the Stink Moody chapter book series with Liam and one of the books talked about Pluto being a planet vs. not a planet. So this was pretty cool for him to check out.
The kids got to look through a giant telescope and see a star cluster and later we were able to look at Saturn and its rings which was all very awesome.
Proof that I was there!
They also had an indoor space training session that the kids could participate in on their own time. They all picked a name and eventually had their picture taken.
Colin
Amelia lost her card but found a random one so she could have her picture taken. This wasn't her original name but I can't remember what it originally was.
We got back to Sandy and Larry's well past the kids' bedtime but luckily they went down fairly easily. The next morning we packed up and went to an art festival downtown.
I admired the already changing fall leaves

After the art festival we went to a park the kids had been to once before and really seem to enjoy.

It was a lovely weekend out of town. Thanks again Sandy and Larry for always putting up with us!
