ARIZONA

This past week Liam and I went to Arizona to surprise Beth at her baby shower and also visit the grandparents.  We had a great time and Liam did amazing during his travels again! It was a very busy week.
Uncle Matt and Liam hanging out early on Thursday.

Thursday we headed over to the high school so Grandma and Grandpa Casson could see the little man, then we headed over to see great grandma and lastly to the park to hang with the Jacobs.

Later that evening Liam was chillin' on the couch.

The weather was great the whole time we were there-which made it much more difficult to come home!  We played outside a lot and Liam loved it!

Now then this young lady can no longer hide the fact that she is expecting!  She has finally beat Geoff in the battle of the bulge.  She looks great.  Beth had no idea that I was coming to her shower so she was slightly surprised to see my face when she came in the door.
Only a few more weeks to go right Beth?

After that shower we all headed to Oregano's to gather with a few more people that I haven't seen in a while and Liam was able to meet a few new faces.

Patrick loved Liam. I told him to smile and instead of looking at the camera he just smiled at Liam.

We also did a little swimming! I found a little pool that was Liam-size.  He Loved it!

We were sad to go but apparently Chris missed us and wanted us to come back home.  Hopefully we will be back soon and Chris will get to come this time.

Liam's 3 Month Pictures

I know I thought I would have these up a week ago but I failed!  Sometimes sleep is just more important.  Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and I promise to get a blog up about our recent trip to AZ soon!

Liam: 3 Liam's Dad:0

Sarah is working again tonight, so i'm watching Liam. We do this a few times each week and it typically works out just fine. Tonight, however...

To start off I warmed up a bottle for the boy a few minutes after his mom left, say 6:45 pm. Lately I've been trying to increase his bottle size at each feeding because, well, he's growing, as babies often do. So, the bottle I warmed up was a nice big one. He drank it all and we were pleased. I was quite proud of us both (all you scholars of Ancient Greek Tragedy know where this hubris is going to take us). A few minutes later, he was sucking on his hands again and generally acting a little bit hungry, plus he got the hiccups. Thus, I warmed up just a bit more to try to satisfy him and help him be rid of the hiccups. He started feeding merrily until he coughed, just a little bit, so I removed the bottle from his mouth just in time for him to throw it all back up all over us both.

So he got a bath.

After his bath I lotioned him up, and apparently didn't get his diaper on perfectly, because just 10 or so minutes later as I was feeding him (after all his stomach couldn't have had much of anything left in it) I felt a small wet spot on his hip where the pee had soaked through his fresh clean outfit after escaping the confines of his diaper (see, by pointing out the lotioning step, I am deflecting responsibility for poor diapering, and subtly blaming his mother who is the major proponent of lotion in general; for the record I hate lotion).

So he got another fresh clean outfit.

I forgot to mention that all this happened before I got a chance to eat dinner, so by this time I am completely starving, but still have to wait for the large pot to boil so I can cook the noodles to go with the spaghetti sauce I made the other night. Just as the pot starts to boil and I can put the noodles in Liam starts to show signs of hunger. I desperately staved off his hunger using pacifier magic just long enough for me to stuff my face with a large quantity of food. Of course, when I tried to give him a bottle he showed little interest in actually eating. By this time (9:00 pm) it was time to start the bed-time process, so upstairs we went where I played with him for a little while until he started to get hungry again. I was just about to feed him when he pooped his pants, which was great because he was due. Of course, his dad is too dumb to trust that when Liam has a #2 there is almost always a second round within minutes of the first. I waited 4 minutes. He waited 5. Unfortunately I had his diaper off and was in the process of cleaning/changing him when his particular brand of lightning struck a second time. Fortunately, it was all contained in a small area on a thick blanket we use to change him on and the cleanup was much easier than it could have been.

Anyway, since then he ate again and went right to sleep, so hopefully the current trend of smooth sailing continues, and even though he's putting me through the meat grinder tonight, I'll miss him when I'm at work again tomorrow.

My Superheros

Well, its official we are up and running!!  Thanks to Megan McCoy I have figured out how to continue posting! Last week Chris had a work meeting all day long.  During the meeting they had a salad making contest and Chris' team won.  Therefore he brought home this award winning hat, which I of course had to try on our sweet boy.
He loved it!
Later in the week Liam decided to CRASH on his play mat.  He was so cute all stretched out.
He also loves to be "Super Baby"  basically held  up high above our heads
Here is our sweet boy sporting his camo slipper boots from the Deer Farm. Thanks G & G Snay and Aunt Sadie
I have to admit they are cute.
On Thursday I did laundry.  It was easy to place Liam in the laundry basket and carry him and the laundry upstairs.  I didn't tell Chris about it because we only see each other in passing on days I have to work.  But apparently when he was finishing up the laundry he had the same idea.
Last night we went to Old Navy because tank tops were on sale.  As usual I headed to the baby section.  Chris has been eyeing this cute batman onesie for Liam but refused to get it unless it was on sale.  Well to our surprise it was buy one get one free so he has batman and superman. Therefore, my boys had to dress the same today.  Here is an early morning shot of my superheros in action.
Later we headed to Costco because we needed to get a few in-demand supplies (toilet paper).  As I was looking at the books there was "My First Batman Book", of course I had to get it!  It went along with the theme for today.
It is a touch and feel book and the last page is a mirror so you can look like a superhero.  I think Liam makes a good looking Robin.

Chris and Liam's "Seriously are we done with pictures yet" faces.  Like father, like son! HA!
We picked up Liam's 3 month old pictures from JC Penney.  I will try and post those tomorrow :)

3 Months Old!

It's hard to believe that our baby is 3 months old today!  I still can't believe how fast time is going.  I know everyone says it goes by fast but I didn't think it would go by this fast!  I have no idea how much he weighs because we don't go to the pediatrician again for another month.  He is approx. 25in length.  Liam has to wear 6 month clothing in most things, depending on the brand.  He loves to smile and I love it when he smiles!  He is grabbing and holding on to things more purposefully. Liam also loves hair; yup I either need to chop off all my hair or keep it in a ponytail 24 hours a day :) He also likes to grab our fingers and be pulled up into a sitting position.  He thinks he is big stuff.  Anyway, here are a few (or a ton) pictures of our 3 month old baby Liam...
Loves his baths
Look how big he is compared to his very 1st bath

Staring out the window.

Recently if you tickle his back he almost laughs.  It is hilarious!

 He loves it!
 Cute boy
This morning he woke up all happy and eating his monkey blanket.  I love his sleepy face.

Now then, I am still working on his new room and Brandi helped me out by making this lovely whale mobile.  I love it.  I am currently working on painting some shelves to hang also. I also finally found a red sheet for his crib.  I have been looking for one but either they didn't carry them or they were out.  I think it gives a whole new vibe to his room! Oh yeah and I am not as anxious to kick him out quite yet.  I think I will miss him not being in the room with us and the fact that I need to hear him breathing. I know I am being paranoid but I was fine until I heard a story from one of my recent patients and I got all freaked out about SIDS again.  I think when I do move him I am going to have to do it over the course of a couple days off because I don't think I will sleep very well the first few nights without him.

Love it!

Now then, I had some issues getting this posted.  Apparently, I have run out of space on my blog.  I didn't even realize I could.  Chris and I may have to find a new website to blog on :(  We will keep you all posted if we need to find a new webpage.
