Punkin Pickin'

On Sunday we went to the Belvedere Plantation in Fredricksburg to meet up with the Ives, and we had a splendid day! There were so many things to do and see!  Here is Liam at the entrance.

They had a big barn called the fun barn.  It was full of hay and had ropes hanging from the ceiling for kids to swing on.  Liam was much too young so he just played in they hay.

They also had a designated area for little tikes.  There was a sand and rock pit with lots of toys.  Tire swings made into horses like this one.

Little bikes for the kids to ride on.  Liam figured out how to move the handle bars and thought he was pretty big stuff, even though his feet are nowhere close to touching the pedals!

They also had a zip-line for kids, big tube slides buried in a dirt hill, a race track, a jumpy pad thing, and a pumpkin canon!  After Liam played a little we went and checked out some of the animals.  He even attempted to feed this sheep but had his hand in a fist so eventually daddy stepped in to help.

Then we checked out the pigs and this big turkey and roosters.

Then we headed over to watch the pig races.  Anderson was anxiously awaiting.

Then we took a little potty break.  Liam enjoyed playing/washing his hands.

Finally, we headed over to the corn maze.

Then it was pumpkin picking time!!  I was so EXCITED, maybe because I have never done anything like this before because back home it is too hot to have pumpkin patches.  We rode to the pumpkin fields on a haytrailer pulled by a tractor.  Liam found this cute little pumpkin right away.

There were pumpkins EVERYWHERE.  It was awesome.

 Once you go to check out you can pay by the pound or one price for all you can hold for 3 seconds.  So we loaded Chris and Ryan up with pumpkins and, thank goodness they were able to hold them that long.  Actually, both of them did well and we probably could have pilled a few more on top.  That's okay, we came home with plenty.  Six to be exact: two big ones, three medium, and one little Liam sized one! It was a great day!
