This past weekend we took a trip to Phoenix with Grandma and Grandpa Casson. Basically, we had a little housewarming party to attend and the grandparents were kind enough to come to Phoenix and babysit so Chris and I could visit with some friends. Saturday morning we all went to the Hall of Flame Museum. Liam is WAY into firefighters and we thought he might enjoy it.
Colin was exhausted and fell asleep on the way there.
They had multiple displays but the first room had fire engines before there were actual engines. Chris said this one looks like Cinderella's coach (before it turned back into a pumpkin). We later found out it was only used for parade purposes.
There was one fire engine that the kids were able to climb on and Liam was in heaven! He was SO excited to "drive" the truck.
They even had real fireman hats
Here's a little video of Liam and his daddy cruising in the firetruck.
Everyone had to get in the truck and drive with him. At one point he had grandma and grandpa sitting in the back and Colin and daddy in the front.
Colin did wake up and enjoyed his time playing too.
Colin did a little driving also and was so excited.
We continued on our journey and found a little kids play area. There was a mini fire truck with a hose.
A real fire pole which Liam enjoyed throughly
Liam did this little skit quite a bit! This is the probably the slowest time he went through the routine. By the time we realized we should video it I think he was wore out!
Grandma took Colin on this little ride.
Our little firefighter!
(The little cut on his chin is from the night before he fell out of the bed in the hotel and bonked it)
They had a little firehouse and there we lots of trucks/toys etc. Then there was this gross, dirty, been-played-with-way-too-much doll that Colin thought was great! He would look at it and smile and then he would lay down and hug it. It was seriously the cutest, most disgusting thing I have ever seen. Here is our sweet boy with the doll.
Afterwards we went to grab a bite and Chris went to play golf. The boys took naps and we hung out at the hotel and then did a little shopping at Target. When we got back to the hotel Liam wanted to sit outside with his grandpa. They had dinner together.
Chris and I went out that night and had a wonderful time with friends, some we had not seen in years. It was great and we stayed up way too late! Next up swimming at the hotel!!
