Virginia Part 1 - National Harbor

Wednesday Oct. 2nd we began our adventure to Virginia!  I worked a half day and then came home to get us all packed up so we could leave for Vegas.  We booked a room in Vegas because our flight left at 6am!  We did not want to wake the boys up at 2am to make our flight!

We were running a little late and ended up being the last ones to board the plane.  It made the seating situation rough since we were flying Southwest but luckily someone was nice enough to move so Liam and Chris had seats together.  It also ended up being in the very front which allowed for more leg room.  This was awesome and I ended up sitting up front with both boys while Chris sat cramped further back in a middle seat.

Once we arrived to Baltimore, we had to catch a train to Union Station, then hop on the Metro to Reagan Airport, then we walked to the car rental and found out the place we rented from was not on site and we had to jump on a shuttle!

It was a super long adventure to get our rental car, much longer than we anticipated but the boys did great and Liam thoroughly enjoyed the many means of transportation.  Liam was super cute and kept telling us that "We are a team" during the day as we were traveling everywhere it seemed.  He was so cooperative and finally crashed in the stroller on our way to get the rental car.  Colin was already out! We finally made it to Ghani and Maggie's house at 5:30 and we were beat.  Maggie was kind enough to pick up dinner and we just chilled the rest of the evening.

The next morning the boys woke up and played in the awesome playroom with Laith.

After the boys played a little bit we had them all take a bath so we could get to the Children's Museum.

Friday morning the original plan was to meet up with some people at the National Zoo but with the government being such down it put a wrench in it.  We were going to meet up with Grace and her kiddos but they were sick with fevers, and Christina and her kiddos but she ended up having to work.  Anyway, we ended up at the National Harbor Children's Museum and the kids loved it.

Colin found some animals to play with and especially liked the cow.  He had a blast handing me each animal and having me make the sound of each one, including the dinosaur.

We left and ate lunch and then wandered over to the sand area by the Potomac River.

Basically, it is a big sandy area with statue of Poseidon with his hand, head, and a leg sticking out.

We eventually left because it was pretty hot and the boys needed naps.

Liam enjoyed climbing and would yell to anyone who came near him that he could do it all by himself!  He likes to hang from bars lately but isn't quite strong enough to pull himself up to a safe position without falling straight to the ground, luckily Maggie was standing close by.

The boys played some soccer.  Liam actually had more fun picking the ball up and throwing it,  Laith on the other hand does more kicking.  Apparently we need to teach Liam more about the rules of soccer.

For dinner we decided to go to Guapo's, since it was always one of our favorite places to go.  Liam was in a goofy mood but very happy.  He showed his excitement for Guapo's also.
