Our sweet Colin is three years old! Chris and I had to work on his actual birthday which was a bummer but he had a great day. When we got home we let him open his gifts from us. He was pretty expressionless which shocked Chris and me because we thought we did a good job on his gift.
Opening his new war machine mask
He thought it was cool but wasn't as excited as we thought he would be.
Colin has been wanting a book with his picture in it for a while so he got a Spider-Man book with his face in it. He was a little excited about it.
After he opened his gifts he did warm up to them and wanted to try on his new mask.
Then we all went to dinner at the Garlic Clove with G&G Casson.
Here he is showing us how old he is
After dinner we went to BR for desert.
Colin was a happy 3 year old!
Now a little more about our boy. Colin is still a super sweet little guy. He is always so happy when he first wakes up and loves to give hugs. He loves to play with his brother and when he can't find him he yells out "Where's Liam?" Colin loves to pretend play and is really into his stuffed puppy dog named Barkley and will ask you to pet him. He loves playing super heroes and is usually war machine or iron man. He love Rescue Bots and there is a new bot, High Tide that he pretends to be some days. Colin continues to struggle to take naps but clearly can't survive a full day without one. He will have breakdowns around 6pm on days he doesn't nap.
At his checkup he weighed 33lbs and was 36 3/4 inches long. He wears 3T clothing and a size 9 shoe.
We have recently seemed to fully potty train Colin!! It took about four weeks but he has it down pretty well and on occasion he will wake up in the middle of the night to go. Colin is a picky eater sometimes and other times he eats the whole house! He really likes dino chicken, yogurt, and bananas. Those are his staples. He also loves fruit snacks that have to be limited in this house which sometimes causes an argument when he is told no.
Colin can articulate his words very well and speaks clearly enough that he no longer has any baby accent. He loves to swim, loves his water table, and riding his bike (tricycle). He has recently started to step out of his shell and play with friends without Liam right by his side. He seems to be enjoying school which is awesome because I was nervous about sending him.
Colin is also a pretty funny guy. A couple weeks ago I was putting the boys down for a nap while Tim was painting. Liam needed to use the restroom so of course Colin did too. I went to check on him in my bathroom and he didn't need to go. He came sprinting through the living room back to his room and yelled "Grandpa, I'll go poop tomorrow" It was hilarious and so random. Just today I asked the boys if we could make a quick stop to Kmart, Colin responded with "No, not by the hair of my chinny chin chin" We just LOVE this little guy.
