Colin's Big Boy Bed

Last Sunday we decided to take down the crib and move Colin into the toddler bed.  Grandpa and Chris hard at work.
Colin seemed perfectly fine taking the crib down and even offered his assistance.
He then laid down and did a little reading on the nicely vacuumed carpet where the bed was going to go.
Happy little guy
Once the bed was set up and ready Colin just laid down, read a book, and played with toys.  He had no desire to get up out of his bed
Sweet boy
More reading
He went down pretty easily the first night and stayed asleep until morning.  I, of course, had to sneak in and take a picture.
He has done really well going to bed at night and not getting up out of his bed at all.  Naps have always been more difficult and are still tough.  He stays in his bed but cries or leans over his bed and grabs books or toys to play with.
Yesterday was one of those days where Colin would NOT fall asleep.  I was exhausted and really was hoping for a nap myself.  It was one of those afternoons where you have lost all patience with your precious child.  I went in and told Colin to close his eyes and go to sleep.  He immediately looked at me and started crying because he was also exhausted yet could not fall asleep.  I scooped him up and started rocking him but at the same time was still so frustrated.  He sweetly wrapped his little arms around my waist the best he could and laid his precious head on my chest and fell asleep.  It turned into one of the best parenting moments and I will forever have it captured in my memory.  The other cool moment was as I was rocking him and he was sound asleep but I was just soaking in every second, the little bean growing inside me started kicking me like crazy right where Colin was laying. Ha.  Clearly his little brother or sister was feeling a little squashed. Anyway, it was one of those moments as a parent that started out being absolutely exhausting and frustrating and turned into an amazing moment with my sweet boy.
My boys have been getting along pretty well lately and it is so neat to see them play and interact together.  Here are some pictures from earlier this week.
Eating lunch together.  They kept making silly faces at each other and then would take a bite of their food.
Sweetly watching Curious George together.
One night Colin climbed in the laundry basket and Liam asked Colin if he could climb in with him. Ha.
Colin was perfectly happy to have him join
LOVE these boys
