It's hard to believe that my little baby boy is already two years old! It has been a wonderful two years and Colin has been such a great addition to our family. Colin has been talking more and more lately and has mastered the word "no" and "mine" especially when playing with his brother. When he does say "no" it is usually in the cutest way. He usually has a sweet silly look on his face and says "nooo." Someday I'll have to try and get it on video. Colin still takes a minute to warm up to crowds of people and usually wants me close by until he is ready to be social but if he knows you well enough he will let his little personality shine through. Colin still has light brown, wavy hair, big blue eyes, and very kissable cheeks. Colin is an excellent sleeper at night but naps are a struggle. We've had some battles. He will stay in his bed but he likes to play and do everything in his power to keep himself awake. There have been days where it takes him 1-2 hours to fall asleep! There is no way he can survive without a nap though. He continues to eat well but has become a little more picky about his choices lately unless he is starving. Colin loves to play with his brother and copies just about everything he does. This also means he has learned to throw tantrums earlier which is not my favorite thing but he has also learned to play pretend and especially loves to be a puppy dog. He does a great job playing independently, too, but occasionally just wants his momma to play with him. The other night he brought me a stuffed animal that I had to do what he did and follow him around the house. We had a good time :)
Colin had his two-year-old appointment today and was 35.5 inches and 29lbs. That puts him in the 90th percentile for height and 60th percentile for weight. He currently wears an 8 size shoe although 7.5 would be more ideal. He wears a 2T although it depends on the brand and a 3T in Pj's.
He's also a smart little fella! He figured out recently that he could hang (magnetic) trains from Liam's (metal-framed) bed. Ha
For Colin's birthday we sang Happy Birthday to him when he woke up, which he was more than happy about. Then he opened a couple books from mom, dad, and big brother.
He was excited to see it was some more Pout Pout Fish books and of course we had to read them right away.
At his birthday party someone else got him the same present Chris and I had bought for him, so G&G came to hang with Liam and Colin went with us to the store so he could choose a new gift after we returned the one from us. We wandered up and down aisles but nothing seemed to spark his interest. Then he came across some How To Train Your Dragon bath squirts ("baby dragons") and that was it. He handed them to me and wanted to get in the cart. Then we picked up Liam and G&G and went to Chili's for a birthday lunch. They even sang to him there and he ate a little ice cream.
After naps we went to G&G Snay's for a little swimming and backyard fun. I think he enjoyed his day :)
We love you more than you will ever know sweet Colin. We are so proud of you and love watching you grow. We can't wait to see what the future holds!
