Air and Scare

Saturday we went to the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udar-Hazy Center for a Halloween event called Air and Scare.  It's about 45 minutes away next door to Dulles Airport and is a huge hangar with LOTS of planes, helicopters, and the Discovery Space Shuttle.  They had a ton of activities set up for the kiddos and different stations where they could go trick or treating.  

On the way there we talked to Liam about how there would be lots of kids in costumes and that if you wear a costume you get candy.  Once we parked he saw some of the kids (Mario and Luigi, Captain America, and so on) and was willing to put his costume on.  When we got inside he was in awe of all the people around him and was pretty well-behaved and stayed close to us!

The space shuttle that Chris was able to see flying around last spring when it was piggybacking on the back of an airliner between Florida and Virginia is was on display.  It is HUGE and was pretty neat to see in person.

They had a story time for the kiddos and Liam sat and was so focused on it! It really surprised me to see him sit still and participate for so long.

Laith had fun running around while Ghani and Maggie chased him but he eventually sat in our stroller and seemed to like it quite a bit.

Finally I couldn't take it anymore so I woke sweet Colin up and put the rest of his costume on so I could get some pictures.  In my defense he had been asleep for two and a half hours!

On the way out we had already taken the boys' costumes off because it was getting pretty warm in the building and we had passed a candy station.  Liam got excited started saying "andy", grabbed his little pumpkin, and started walking to the candy station.  He grabbed a little piece of candy and put it in his bucket. I told him to say thank you and he looked at the guy and said "ank you" He's a good guy :)

We covered Colin with his costume to keep him warm on the walk outside and he had fun grabbing it and trying to eat.  Silly little guy :)
